British Airways

STERLON staff traveling to London are all members of the 'British Airways Executive Club'. STERLON is also a member of the British Airways 'On Business' Program. By charging as many business expenses as possible to the British Airways Visa card, offered by the Royal Bank of Canada, collectively we are able to make the maximum use of our points for travel upgrades and free tickets. This allows us to make use of British Airways World traveller Plus (Premium Economy) and Club World (Business Class) at very reasonable prices.

The Club World experience includes dining before departure, a flat bed during the journey and the use of the arrivals lounge at Heathrow Airport which offers a cooked English breakfast, hot showers and a suit pressing service all included in the ticket price. The Heathrow Express departs from Heathrow Terminal 5 and arrives in central London 20 minutes later. This allows us to arrive in the city by mid morning leaving the rest of the day free for meetings. We have found that jet lag has been kept to a minimum thanks to these excellent facilities.

Porter Airlines

For domestic flights in Ontario and Quebec we use Porter Airlines where possible. The level of comfort and service on the flights is exceptional and equal to domestic business class travel in many parts of the world. The price, however, is substantially less and Porter offers the added convenience of downtown departures from the Toronto Island Airport.

From our office a GO-Train takes us from Oshawa to Union Station in Toronto where the Porter shuttle bus whisks us to the ferry terminal. Services currently are offered to Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax and we look forward to additional services being offered within Canada in the not to distant future.

WestJet

WestJet is our preferred choice of airline for other domestic travel. Long term we hope that WestJet will move to a 2-class cabin offering a business class with greater comfort, working space and food!

Hilton

STERLON staff use the Hilton family of hotels, when travelling on business for STERLON or for our other business interests. Whether we are in Amsterdam, Budapest, Chicago, Hull, Johhanesburg, London, Ottawa, Paris or Vancouver Hilton Hotels delivers. For longer trips the full service Hilton Hotels have proved excellent especially when entertaining business clients. In recent years the Hilton Garden Inn brand has offered excellent facilities at a consistent standard at great rates and are ideal for short stays.

PBL

PBL of Toronto look after our insurance interests for both STERLON and CAN-UK Underwriting Services Ltd. The team at PBL provide outstanding service and have taken a proactive approach to ensure that we have the necessary protections in place for both our business and staff.

FedEx

FedEx is our courier company of choice providing service internationally and domestically. Service levels are consistently high and tracking on the FedEx website is easy and efficient. Whenever we have questions or the occasional problem has been encountered Fedex customer service staff have proved to be excellent.

Verio

Verio is our provider of choice for all our domain hosting requirements, as well as our Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 provider. For many years we had mixed hosting however when problems occurred Verio consistently demonstrated outstanding customer service and support. The service comparisons lead us to move all of our domains to Verio, an NTT Communications company.

Mercedes Benz Smartcar

STERLON selected the Smart Fortwo by Mercedes Benz for our loss adjusters to use when undertaking investigations which require visits to clients and lawyers. This was our commitment to helping to protect the environment. The vehicle has provided us with outstanding reliability, is fun to drive, fuel efficient and has proved excellent for both short and long haul trips. Our vehicle is supplied by, and is maintained by, Smart Centre Durham.

Grand & Toy

Grand & Toy is our preferred office supplies store. Our account manager in the Whitby store consistently provides us with friendly, personalized order service and 'next day' delivery.

Crown Limousine Service

Crown fulfills all our transportation needs both for staff and corporate visitors. Crown is a small local company offering personalized service with an excellent performance record. Crown have never let us down in all the years we have been doing business.

Chanterelle Bistro

Chanterelle is our caterer for all boardroom functions requiring a meal to be served. The food is excellent and the 'plates' are carefully prepared by Chanterelle staff to ensure the very best presentation at the table. Our guests really enjoy a STERLON boardroom lunch thanks to Chanterelle. The Chanterelle Bistro Restaurant is located in Bowmanville, Ontario on the main street and is an excellent dinner venue. Based on our European dining experiences in Michelin one and two Rosettes restaurants, Chanterelle would almost certainly be deserving of a Michelin Rosette. A Michelin Rosette is a highly coveted award in the European restaurant industry.

Dell Computers

We have used Dell computers exclusively for many years now and have found their customer service and leasing programs to be the best in the business. On a rare occasion when a machine has failed, the on-site technical support provided by Dell's optional warranty programs have proved invaluable. We operate a rotating renewal program and when machines are retired they are offered to staff and family where they continue to give good service.

Paytrak Payroll Services

Paytrak Payroll Services are specialists in the payroll business and take care of all our payroll needs. This avoids the need for our own bookkeeper to be involved in calculating payroll deductions and making tax contributions to Revenue Canada. Once a week we submit by fax the payroll sheets for all staff and the following day our staff receive their salary credited directly to their bank accounts. A package of the salary statements is received in our office by courier, and distributed to staff, as well as information for our bookkeeper, which makes her job simplicity itself.

Rogers

Rogers is our exclusive supplier of wireless phones, cable and internet, and digital trunk services for our phone system.
